Hiya T,

How have you been? No really – how have you been?

I know it’s been a while since we last saw each other, and sadly it will be even longer before we see each other again. But that doesn’t mean we can’t keep in touch. I have more time to check-in with you, and I’m here for you now more than ever. I’m so glad you’re finally in the greatest state in the world – if only you had chosen the greatest city too (baby steps, I know). You’ll be an amazing teacher because I see the way you love people, and I know your students will feel that love.

The most important message I want you to hear is, and I know it will be easier said than done, I don’t want you to worry about me. I’m okay, T. I miss you, but I’m okay. There are drums up here and some LEGENDARY musicians. Needless to say, I’m staying busy – and so should you. Keep on keeping on. Please know that you never have to let me go. But if there comes a time that you need to, that’s okay too.

You and me, we will always be okay, we will always be in touch, and we will always be us.  Everything will be okay, and I will always be a drum beat away.

I love you, T.
